What this contract is for

NIST-SS26-12 6640 / 334516? Primary POC: Liz Timberlake ([email protected])? Secondary POC: Forest Crumpler ([email protected]) Title:?Tunable Laser Controller BACKGROUND ***THIS IS A COMBINED SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE AND NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE*** The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking information from sources that may be capable of providing a tunable laser controller. If no alternate sources are identified, the Government intends to issue a Sole Source Award to Toptica Photonics Inc. (1120 Pittsford Victor Rd, Pittsford, NY) under the authority of FAR 12.102(a) only one reasonably found source. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334413. NIST has a need for a tunable laser controller that meets or exceeds the following draft minimum specifications: The Contractor shall provide one (1) tunable laser controller that meet the following minimum specifications: Description: Electronic controller for a Toptica Photonics CTL 1500 laser head Quantity: One (1) Technical Specifications: The controller must have an interactive screen for selecting operational modes, setting parameters, visualizing optical resonances of an optically interrogated cavity as the laser tunes, and selecting resonances. The controller must be fully digital with 24-bit inputs for the best control resolution. The laser wavelength must be tunable using a coarse motion stage and a piezoelectric motion stage. These tuning methods must be able to operate simultaneously. The controller must support and operate all functions of the current Toptica Photonics CLT 1500 laser head. NIST conducted market research from March through November of 2024 by attending conferences, speaking with colleagues, performing...

How to bid on this

This is a contract solicitation, not a grant. To bid, you submit a proposal (usually a price and a description of how you would do the work) directly to the government, through the channel the official listing specifies, not through Oppward.

  1. Make sure your business has an active SAM.gov registration. You cannot be paid on a federal contract without one.
  2. Read the full solicitation on the official listing above, especially the scope of work, not just this summary. Our guide to reading a solicitation walks through what to look for.
  3. This listing has no set-aside restriction ("full and open competition"), meaning any business, large or small, can bid.
  4. Submit your proposal by the deadline, using the exact submission method the official listing states. A technically on-time bid sent the wrong way is often treated as late.
