What this contract is for

The RCO MCI-West is issuing this Sources Sought (SS) as a means of conducting market research to determine if there is a sufficient number of authorized Mean Green brand distributors or dealers interested in and capable of providing Mean Green Rival 52 electric zero-turn lawn mowers and chargers. These equipment will be utilized by the Area Facilities Managers and various Maintenance Managers in Camp Pendleton to conduct grounds maintenance of cutting various terrain grasses. The result of this market research will contribute to determining the method of procurement in accordance with FAR Part 12 (Acquisition of Commercial Items). The Government will also use the information gathered through this SS to determine the best acquisition strategy for this requirement (set-aside or full and open, etc.). The Government is interested in all potential sources including Small Businesses, Small Disadvantaged Businesses, 8(a) businesses, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses, HUBZone Small Businesses, and Women-Owned Small Businesses. See attached Sources Sought notice.

How to bid on this

This is a contract solicitation, not a grant. To bid, you submit a proposal (usually a price and a description of how you would do the work) directly to the government, through the channel the official listing specifies, not through Oppward.

  1. Make sure your business has an active SAM.gov registration. You cannot be paid on a federal contract without one.
  2. Read the full solicitation on the official listing above, especially the scope of work, not just this summary. Our guide to reading a solicitation walks through what to look for.
  3. Check the set-aside listed above and confirm your business actually qualifies for it before you spend time on a proposal. See our guide to set-asides if the category is unfamiliar.
  4. Submit your proposal by the deadline, using the exact submission method the official listing states. A technically on-time bid sent the wrong way is often treated as late.
