What this contract is for
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Tormach Inc for a Tormach Computer Numerical Control (CNC) PCNC 440 Mill milling machine. The Government requires a compact, research-grade CNC milling system that operates on standard 110V power, fits within existing laboratory space, is compatible with existing CAD software, and is suitable for operation by non-machinist personnel. The Tormach PCNC 440 is the only known product that meets these minimum requirements. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 12.102(a). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within fifteen (15) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any quotation/response should be emailed to Denedra Hardy at [email protected] by 10:00AM EDT July 24, 2026.

How to bid on this
This is a contract solicitation, not a grant. To bid, you submit a proposal (usually a price and a description of how you would do the work) directly to the government, through the channel the official listing specifies, not through Oppward.
- Make sure your business has an active SAM.gov registration. You cannot be paid on a federal contract without one.
- Read the full solicitation on the official listing above, especially the scope of work, not just this summary. Our guide to reading a solicitation walks through what to look for.
- Check the set-aside listed above and confirm your business actually qualifies for it before you spend time on a proposal. See our guide to set-asides if the category is unfamiliar.
- Submit your proposal by the deadline, using the exact submission method the official listing states. A technically on-time bid sent the wrong way is often treated as late.
